Ms. Lauryn HIll quietly released her latest single “Neurotic Society” this weekend for Sony under her new label Obverse Creation Music. According to Ms. Hill’s Tumblr page she says she was urged to release the track as part of her new label deal with the mega music giant.

This comes as a surprise since she has been bogged down with legal issues over the last few years concerning the non-payment of taxes in her home state of New Jersey. Still facing these legal woes Lauryn also offers some explanation for other untruths about her and her current financial situation on her page.

Amidst the madness the hip hop goddess assures her fans that she is still working on new music and is set to release a new album later on this year. Since the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill the singer/raptress has been very vocal about the negative trappings of the music industry and the “demons” within it. It will be interesting to see what’s been on Ms. Hill’s mind since then and her take on the slew of negative media surrounding her over the last 15 years.
